Paper Aeroplanes!

Paper Aeroplanes!

Year 2 carefully followed some instructions to make their own paper aeroplane.

Having decorated their planes the children had great fun testing them outside and explored how they go try to make them got further!

Airport Day in Nursery!

Airport Day in Nursery!

Today in Nursery we have really enjoyed Airport Day!

We have been out in our garden pretending our bus is a plane looking out onto the sea! We have also been running round the yard pretending to be aeroplanes and making the “n” sound.

Then we joined the rest of the big boys and girls on the Key Stage 2 yard to be part of the whole school video!

We have also had our lunch on trays like you would on the aeroplane, this was really fun!

We have also listened to a story all about a little boy called Jack who went on his holidays and what he did at the airport. After that we got to play with the pop up model of the airport and pretend to be Jack!

As well as all these exciting things, we got to release our butterflies and watch them fly away!

I)We have had a fantastic day all dressed up as different people from the airport.

Flying High with EasyJet

Flying High with EasyJet

A big thank you to Graham Brooks who joined us and told us all about life as a pilot.

Graham explained how he had become a pilot and showed us some of the different aeroplanes he had flown during his career. We were fascinated to see the inside of the cockpit and also watch a video taken from this place showing us a landing, whilst Graham talked us through what he would be doing.

He also demonstrated with a piece of paper what happens to the wings as air rushed over and under them.

Thank you Graham, we had a wonderful time and learnt lots.

EasyJet Pilot

This week we welcomed EasyJet Pilot, Graham Brooks who talked to children in both KS1 and KS2. The children enjoyed learning about what had inspired Graham to learn to fly and what a day in the life of a pilot involved. Graham showed us some fantastic pictures of what the weather looks like at 35,000ft and the inside of the cockpit. We even got the chance to learn how to take off and land a plane! I’m sure he has inspired a generation of budding pilots!
